MOTOBU SAYING #32

August 6, 2012 by kogawabushidokai

Motobu Choki

32. One night when I was young, I hired a rickshaw and headed out, when we were set upon by a group of 5-6 men, probably someone I had beat at Tsuji. From the top of the rickshaw, I threw the bundle of coins I had at the closet man, to distract him., before jumping down. I dropped the man to my side with a sideways strike across his eyes, and then dropped my body and performed the same technique, this time with a closed fist, to the man approaching from the front. Strangely enough he did a complete somersault over my arm and landed on his back behind me. In this way, I finished them off without breaking too many bones. After the fight, I saw that the rickshaw driver had lost his legs from fright, I felt sorry for him.
