Mr. Britton Visit – 1/28/12

February 4, 2012 by kogawabushidokai

Mr. Wesley Britton visited with Kogawa Bushido Kai this past weekend. He worked the Sho-ha Shorin ryu kata and applications of the kata Naihanchi Sho, Seisan, and Seichin. Mr. Britton also worked with Mr. VanSant who is learning Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sword – 108 and 32 Forms. Mr. Britton encouraged the training group to experience “Sho Ha Ri” via applying kama, sai, and bo to karate kata. The process was enlightening. One can see by watching others when a specific dynamic is altered that application can and should become personal, “…you become karate and karate becomes you.”
It was an excellent learning experience and we look forward to training with Mr. Britton again soon.
